Faculty of Management staff update

The Faculty of Management is pleased to announce some staffing updates with the School of Business and the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

School of Business, MBA Program - Farah Motani

The MBA program office is pleased to welcome our newest program associate, Farah Motani, to the team. Farah joined us in July and we’ve been so busy we finally found time to make a proper introduction to the RRU community. Farah joins us here having relocated to Victoria from Toronto three months ago. She recently completed her bachelor in environmental studies and history in 2014 from York University. During her undergrad degree, Farah had the tremendous opportunity of traveling to Tanzania for four months to intern for a locally-based renewable energy company. Farah also worked at York University, both during and after her degree completion, where she completed community outreach and engagement for York’s sustainability department, event planning and administration for a research project focused on Canadian workplaces and response to climate change, and part-time event coordination for the environmental NGO Evergreen Brickworks.  Since arriving in Victoria, she has immersed herself in the role of volunteer for several music festivals to meet great people and learn more about Victoria’s beauty, culture and music scene. She has also spends a lot of her time hiking, dog walking for the BC SPCA, volunteering to help protect the island’s old growth forests, and of course, enjoying the beautiful sunsets, beaches, mountain views and weather. Farah can be reached at farah.motani@royalroads.ca or at extension 4159. Welcome Farah!

In addition, Josie has been working as Student Activities Assistant with Student Services since January.  Before moving to Canada, Josie completed a Master of Education in ESL Teaching in Australia, and spent a year back home in China as an ESL teacher. Josie’s experiences as an international student will be of huge value to our BBA learners, and the BBA Program Team is thrilled to welcome her on board! After graduating in Chilliwack she moved back to Vancouver Island where she studied psychology at the University of Victoria. In her spare time she enjoys mountain biking, hiking, painting, and attempting to make anything and everything on Pinterest. Recently she had the opportunity to travel in Panama, and Ecuador with her fiancé where they stayed in his home town on the Galapagos Islands. She is very much enjoying her role in the MGM program, and is excited for her future here at Royal Roads University. Amy may be reached at amy.croft@royalroads.ca or at extension 4564.
