FoM welcomes Alejandra Huerta Guerra

The Faculty of Management (FoM) is pleased to announce Alejandra Huerta Guerra has joined us as an assistant professor in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) until August 2018.

Alejandra Huerta Guerra has worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years with international hotel experience in Switzerland, Mexico and Canada. Over those years, she developed a passion for excellence in customer service; her research focuses on customer service and the extent social media can inform training strategies.

Huerta Guerra is a tourism consultant, customer service certified trainer and an instructor. Previously, she worked with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts (Vancouver, Victoria and Rivera Maya) in various hotel sales positions with experience in group, business and leisure travel. She has also worked for Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver and the Melia Reforma Hotel in Mexico City.

Huerta Guerra has an MA in Tourism Management from Royal Roads University. In addition to diplomas in hotel operations and hotel management from Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland, she is a certified trainer for WorldHost Training Services and has an Instructor Skills Certificate.

Huerta Guerra enjoys running and discovering authentic experiences around BC and the world. She lives in Victoria with her husband and young children.
