International Showcase: Thank you!
Thank you to students, staff and faculty who participated in our 9th Annual International Showcase on Jan. 29.
The showcase reflected the incredible diversity of the students we have on campus. It was wonderful to see students excitedly sharing their vast knowledge of their culture, food and art. The Recreation Centre was packed with joy, music and the aroma of rich food from around the world.
Thank you to our students from Bahamas, Bhutan, Canada, China, Colombia, Egypt, Finland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the United States of America and Vietnam for your outstanding cultural displays of art, food, talent and fashion. We especially thank the Indigenous students who shared such a beautiful display of their foods and cultures.
This event was made possible by help from staff of many different departments including Student Services, Indigenous Student Services, the Recreation Centre, the Office of International Collaboration and Development, the Library, Production, Media Support Services, Communications, the Custodial team and academic program offices. A special thank you to Ken and Paul from Maintenance for providing last-minute support in putting up all the country flags.
Thank you once again and we hope to see you all in 10th Annual International Showcase.
