Kathie Ross presents at IPA Conference
Kathie Ross, associate faculty member with the School of Business, presented at the Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting Emerging Scholars Colloquium in Stockholm in July 2015.
Ross discussed the interaction of professional and northern identities for women accountants in northwestern B.C. The topic is part of her research utilizing oral history interviews to explore the interaction of continuing professional development and identity for women accountants in Canada. The conference is in its 30th year and is a well-establish forum for a variety of theoretical perspectives in research in accounting and challenges the image of accounting as a neutral management technique by raising broader issues about the way that accounting and accountants affect the social, political and economic environments.
