Kelly Awards nominee profile: Carol Brown
The Kelly Outstanding Teaching Awards recognize core and associate faculty members who are representative of outstanding teaching at Royal Roads. Leading up to announcing the recipients in early October and the awards presentations at October 15th’s Campus Conversation, we will highlight each nominee (in alphabetical order) via a special profile on their teaching philosophy.
The first nominee profiled is Carol Brown.
"I believe in dialogical organizational development and this emerges in class through meaningful dialogues. I believe that the learning environment must work for all. I provide space for all learners to participate: reflection time, group work and class check-ins. Opening and closing circles, as a ritual, are part of my residency process."
The Kelly Outstanding Teaching Awards are open to all Royal Roads University faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching for-credit or non-credit courses at Royal Roads. A call for nominations is made early in each year to students, faculty, and staff. Learn more about the awards and discover past recipients.
