Kelly Awards nominee profile: the McKenzies

Tami Saj

The Kelly Outstanding Teaching Awards recognize core and associate faculty members who are representative of outstanding teaching at Royal Roads University. Leading up to announcing the recipients in early October and the awards presentations at Campus Conversation Oct. 15, we will highlight each nominee (in alphabetical order) via a special profile on their teaching philosophy.

The nominees profiled this week are Cathy and Ed McKenzie.

“Our teaching philosophy is built on a three-part foundation:  building community and relationships with diverse people; having passion and curiosity for the learning moments of every day; and striving to live and teach with genuine purpose. Forming powerful beginnings with each cohort creates a learning environment that fosters transformative endings, which in turn, lead to new beginnings.”
