Charles Krusekopf, associate professor and director in the School of Business, will discuss "A National Carbon Tax for Canada" as part of the BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) Speaker Series: Energy and the Next Federal Election. The talk will be held Monday May 18 from 7:00-8:30 pm at the First Metropolitan United Church, 932 Balmoral in Victoria.

The talk will cover topics such as the differences between a cap and trade carbon policy and an emissions tax; why many experts recommend a carbon tax, while many politicians and companies prefer cap and trade; the lessons learned and current developments in carbon policy in Canada and around the world; and an overview of the main political parties and their carbon policies for the coming federal election.

If you can't make the talk, you can hear an interview on this topic on CFAX radio AM 1070 on Monday May 18 at 5:00 pm.
