In addition to being an ESL teacher in his hometown of Richmond, VA, Jamaal’s background includes a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University and experience in several different fields including education, communications, and advertising. Jamaal is dad to 18-month old Dante, as well as a houseparent to 41 international students at Pearson College. Jamaal’s favorite hobby is soccer, and he plays club soccer for Juan de Fuca and is a Manchester United fan.  He also enjoys reading (biographies and novels), crossword puzzles, listening to records, playing guitar, and watching movies.

Jamaal will be in the Writing Centre from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. If you see him on campus, please help us to make him feel welcome by introducing yourself.

Welcome Jamaal!
