The Library welcomes Kate Plyley

Theresa Bell

I am delighted to introduce Kate Plyley who joined the Writing Centre Nov. 15 in the role of academic writing specialist. Kate is looking forward to assisting students with all their academic writing endeavours, and in particular, she enjoys helping students with the brainstorming and planning phases of the writing process to help them unlock their ideas and envision plans for their papers.

Kate comes to Royal Roads from the University of Victoria where she worked with the Centre for Academic Communication for six years. During her time there, she enjoyed helping students gain more confidence in their abilities and watching them grow as both writers and critical thinkers.

Kate holds an BA (Hons) from the University of Toronto, an MA from Carleton University, and a PhD from the University of Victoria.

In her spare time, Kate loves to swim, play recreational sports (especially volleyball), listen to music by singer-songwriters and indie artists, take photographs, and work on miscellaneous arts and crafts projects.

Kate's office is Library 306, and please feel warmly invited to drop by and introduce yourself.

Welcome Kate!
