MGM students in China for overseas residency
Master of Global Management (MGM) students recently returned home from a two-week overseas residency in Hangzhou, China. MGM students were hosted by the School of Foreign Languages at Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZGU), and were partnered with ZGU students (buddies) to assist with translation while conducting site visits to organizations as part of their research related to International Business Negotiations, and Operations and Supply Chain Management. The students visited various organizations including JNBY Group, e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, Zhenhe Industry Co., automotive supplier BorgWarner and diversified global manufacturing company Holley Group. Royal Roads students conducted research on supply chain operations at Holley subsidiary companies, Houfon Medical Care and Huazheng New Material Co., and presented their findings on the final day of residency.
This year's residency was coordinated by core faculty members Dr. Zhenyi Li from the School of Communication and Culture, and Dr. M. Hassan Wafai from the School of Business. Zhenyi and Hassan worked tirelessly to prepare students for an intense and rewarding international learning experience.
