Mindful Eating: a holiday recipe at CStudies

Harken back to last January when losing weight was foremost in your mind and some rather loud, unhealthy doses of guilt were bombarding you as well. The holidays are times for joy and traditions, of being with family and friends. They can also be times of overeating and riding the train of one food indulgence after the other with no exit strategy in sight.

Few of us are conscious of our eating, whether it be at holiday parties or our daily lunch. Bringing awareness to the direct experience of eating allows you to non-judgmentally observe your relationship to thoughts, feelings and body sensations associated with food preparation and eating, increasing your ability to slow down in this multi-tasking world.

Join Continuing Studies and Sarah Kinsley in December for Mindfulness and Conscious Eating to learn how to respond rather than react to internal and external stimuli, moving away from “automatic pilot”, and witnessing each moment of presence as you eat. Discover the possibility of freedom from habitual, reactive patterns associated with food, and when practiced daily, hone your ability to create healthier internal and external environments.

Now, doesn't January feel a whole lot lighter...?
