Juan Navarro, associate faculty in the School of Business, was recently invited to participate as a speaker in the international seminar "Asia-Pacific Strategies for the Global Trading System" organized by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC).

This seminar took place in Vancouver and brought together leaders and experts from all around the globe. Navarro was part of the panel titled "New Trading Order Across the Pacific" with Canada's ambassador and permanent representative to the World Trade Organization Mr. Stephen de Boer, former WTO Director Mr. Pascal Lamy and former PEEC Co-Chair Dr. Charles Morrison.

This international event was an excellent opportunity for Navarro to present his analysis on Next Generation Trade and Investments Issues, which are known by its acronym NGeTI, in the context of three Regional economic trade agreements that are considered solid pathways to the eventual Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific, namely, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Pacific Alliance (PA), and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
