New school director for SET
The School of Education and Technology is pleased to share the news of Dr. Tamara Leary's appointment to school director effective October 1, 2018. Tamara joined Royal Roads as the program head for the Master of Higher Education Administration and Leadership (MAHEAL) in October 2015. Since coming to Royal Roads she has enjoyed teaching in the MAHEAL program, participating in various Royal Roads committees including Academic Council, Royal Roads Scholarships and Awards Committee and serving as the grievance officer with RRUFA. Tamara's research areas include the scholarship of Canadian higher education, online student engagement and practitioner-scholar transition. A frequent presenter at national conferences, Tamara is an active contributor to the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE) as a board member and has served as conference chair 2017, 2018 and co-chair 2019 and the Canadian Association for Colleges and University Student Services (CACUSS).
Tamara holds a Doctorate of Education in higher education administration and leadership from the University of Calgary, a Master of Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of PEI.
