New VP Global, Mktg & Business Development
I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Pedro Márquez has accepted the role of Vice-President, Global, Marketing and Business Development, effective February 1, 2015.
The University was fortunate to have such a strong response to this competition with a total of 87 applications for this position. Ultimately the strength of Pedro’s background including his business development experience, his strong academic leadership and exposure to international partnerships has led to this appointment and endorsement by the University. Pedro is a dedicated ambassador of Royal Roads University with our students, faculty and staff, the local business community and our Alumni. He co-developed and is passionate about our Learning and Teaching model, a champion of our brand, and brings an experienced eye to our long term mission and goals.
In addition to more than seven years with Royal Roads University as Dean, Faculty of Management, Pedro brings a wealth of experience prior to joining RRU. He held several positions at Tecnólogico de Monterrey including Dean, Business School, Academic Director, CEMEX International Management Program, Department Head and Professor in the Department of Management and International Business. Pedro holds a PhD from the University of Calgary.
Within the business community, Pedro is an active member on the West Shore Chamber of Commerce as 2nd Vice-President and was a Board member for 4 years with the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance.
