The Kelly Outstanding Teaching Award, part of the Kelly Outstanding Teaching Awards suite of categories, recognizes a core or associate faculty member who is representative of outstanding teaching at Royal Roads. Leading up to the 2015 awards announcement in September, we will highlight nominees in a special profile on their teaching philosophy.

Rose Nadon

“By motivating students through clarification of my role and expectations, engaging them daily through interactive and media-enhanced learning techniques, reassuring student performance through the explanation that marks are not to be feared but are simply a process of measuring learning, and insisting on civility and empathy towards each other during the learning, [we] will create an atmosphere of motivation, concentration and accomplishment focus.  I believe in laying out a plan for succeeding, providing students that have not excelled previously with new expectations, and encouraging students that succeed regularly to continue to do so while supporting others around them.” Learn more about Rose.

The Kelly Outstanding Teaching Award is open to all Royal Roads University faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching for-credit courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A call for nominations is sent out each spring to faculty, staff, and students. Learn more about the award and see past recipients.
