Earthquake Threat

In Canada, the coast of British Columbia is most at risk from a major earthquake. More than 1,200 earthquakes are recorded in the province each year. Although most are too small to be felt, an earthquake capable of causing structural damage is expected to occur once every 10 years.
As British Columbia is at high risk for a major earthquake, it is important that we prepare for one and practice how to protect ourselves.

Want to learn more about how to be prepared?

Your Joint Occupational Safety & Health Committee invite you to come see our display table outside of Habitat Café on Oct 18 from 11:30a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for more information on how to prepare yourself and your family.
