Roads to Research: The Interview Matrix

Roads to Research:The Interview Matrix

Please join School of Leadership Studies Associate Professor Niels Agger-Gupta and new Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences Acting Dean Brigitte Harris on Monday, May 16 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Sneq’wa e’lun (Blue Heron House) for their Roads to Research presentation: The Interview Matrix as a dialogic action research method.

Join Brigitte and Niels as they share an experience that has long been a part of the Master of Arts in Leadership program, and was the focus of a workshop they delivered in Barcelona last October at the International Leadership Association’s Annual Conference. In this session, you will learn about and experience the Interview Matrix (IM) method for group engagement and inquiry, and its use as an action research method in Royal Roads leadership projects and theses. The IM is an example of a dialogic approach to organization change, where changes in thinking and action are understood to begin with the conversations among stakeholders in the social construction of new understandings about what is possible in a given context. The audience will both experience an IM and have a chance to engage in dialogue about this approach to inquiry.
