Royal Roads sustainability award finalist
From programs and courses to grounds and buildings, sustainability is woven throughout Royal Roads’ fabric. We are thrilled to report our university is a finalist for the prestigious 2019 AASHE Sustainability Awards in the category of Campus Sustainability Achievement.
The nomination focuses on the opening of the Sherman Jen Building in 2018. The structure repurposed the former Mews Building, transforming it into an energy-efficient, technology-supported and flexible research and learning space.
Named after philanthropist Sherman Jen, this modern space is helping Royal Roads meet its carbon reduction goal.
The AASHE Sustainability Awards recognize individuals and organizations leading the higher education sustainability movement. The program raises the visibility and honours high-impact sustainability projects, research and student leadership.
Winners will be announced mid-September.
