RRU was PROUD in the Victoria Pride Parade!
Negar Abedi, a BBA student and student activities assistant shares her experience of participating in the Victoria Pride Parade:
On Sunday July 9, Royal Roads University took part in the annual Victoria Pride Parade. The Diversity Action Group (DAG) enthusiastically gathered a lovely mix of faculty and students together over the weekend to participate in the event, decorated with RRU Proud shirts and colourful ornaments. Located somehow in the middle of the Pride parade, RRU walked the hour-long parade from Pandora and Government to James Bay where a festival was held. RRU’s passionate participants waved their way through the crowd distributing rainbow stickers and candies. Their energy was never-ending and infectious, always waving, dancing and cheering as they walked, and getting equally warm waves and cheers in return. It was a beautiful day full of positive energy and everyone spreading their love. With many thanks to those who helped make this walk possible and those who participated, here’s to future events with additional facilities, greater turnouts and more importantly, extra fun!
