Save the date: Celebrate the doctoral program
Please join us on Thursday, March 15 in the Castle Drawing Room for the launch of our new book Applied Interdisciplinarity in Scholar Practitioner Programs: Narratives of Social Change and a celebration to mark the transition of Dr. Bernard Schissel’s new chapter with the College of Interdisciplinary Studies!
The book launch will go from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. This book examines the experiences of the first graduates from our Doctor of Social Sciences (DSocSci) program. The chapters are written by DSocSci graduates who describe their unique experiences in framing and conducting research that was outside the boundaries of discipline-based research and that was driven by issues on the ground. This launch provides us with a unique opportunity to honour and celebrate these contributions together as a community. Devina Dander, RRU librarian and scholarly communications and learning support, has also curated an exhibit showcasing the book at the RRU library – so check it out when you have some spare time!
After the book launch, we will transition into a social to give an opportunity for our DSocSci students and RRU faculty, staff and alumni to mix and mingle as well as give us all an opportunity to celebrate Bernard’s next chapter.
Refreshments will be served during the book launch and a no host bar and appetizers will be available during the social. All are welcome!!
