SCC faculty announce recent publications
School of Communication and Culture (SCC) faculty members Dr. Phillip Vannini and Dr. April Vannini recently co-authored the book Wilderness for Routledge's Key Ideas in Geography series. This new publication provides a multidisciplinary introduction to the diverse ways people make sense of the elusive concept of wilderness. Drawing upon key theorists, philosophers, and researchers who have contributed important knowledge to the topic, Wilderness argues for a relational, process-based notion of the term, and understands it as key to the examination of issues from conservation to more-than-human relations.
SCC Director Dr. Jennifer Walinga had two chapters accepted to the International Leadership Association (ILA). The first chapter is "From barriers to breakthroughs: Leading others past wicked problems to inclusive practice" in Breaking the Zero-Sum Game: Transforming Societies Through Inclusive Leadership, a volume in the ILA series Building Leadership Bridges. The second chapter is "Women Leaders Building a Culture of Inclusivity" in Gender, Communication, and the Leadership Gap, the sixth volume within the new Women and Leadership Book Series.
