SCC welcomes Timothy Coombs to campus Mar 13
The School of Communication and Culture is pleased to have Timothy Coombs on campus on March 13 to present on crisis communication, and we are excited to invite you to join us for his lecture.
W. Timothy Coombs (PhD from Purdue University in Public Affairs and Issues Management) is a full professor in the Department of Communication at Texas A&M University. He is also an honorary professor in the Department of Business Communication at Aarhus University. Dr. Coombs researches in the area of crisis communication and his work appears in Management Communication Quarterly, Corporate Communication: An International Journal, Public Relations Review, Business Horizons and the Journal of Communication Management. He has authored two books on crisis communication, Ongoing Crisis Communication and Code Red in the Boardroom as well as being co-editor of the Handbook of Crisis Communication and numerous book chapters on the topic. He has received the 2002 recipient of Jackson, Jackson & Wagner Behavioral Science Prize from the Public Relations Society of America and the 2013 Pathfinder Award from the Institute of Public Relations in recognition of his research contributions to the field and to the practice. Dr. Coombs has worked with governments, corporations and consulting firms in the U.S., Asia and Europe on ways to improve crisis communication efforts for themselves and their clients. He is also the current editor for Corporation Communication: An International Journal.
