Sexual violence education for students
Royal Roads University stands united against sexual violence in our university community. Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported at the university. Consistent with our vision to connect people, ideas and experiences to change lives and the world, we all share the social responsibility to inform and educate to prevent and ultimately end sexual violence.
To support our efforts to inform and educate to prevent sexual violence in our community, all Royal Roads students have access to our newly released online Sexual Violence Education resources. Through the Research Universities Council of BC, Royal Roads partnered with five other universities to create educational resources to combat sexual violence in our communities. Find out more about consent, being an active bystander, relationships and boundaries, and how to support a survivor of sexual violence on our Sexual Violence Education website. Links to these new resources are now included in the LaunchPad: Orientation to RRU (our online orientation for all new students) and will be referenced as part of orientation and welcome activities provided by Student Engagement.
In addition to education and prevention, the Royal Roads University Sexual Violence & Misconduct Policy and Protocols guide how Royal Roads responds to disclosures and reports of sexual violence in our community.
