SoB welcomes Dr. Heather Hachigian
The School of Business is pleased to welcome Dr. Heather Hachigian to her new role as a core faculty member. Prior to joining us as core faculty, Heather was an integral part of the creation of our Graduate Certificate in Corporate Social Innovation and has been teaching in PCS as associate faculty member for the past two years.
Her research interests include responsible investment, and social finance and corporate social innovation. Dr. Hachigian’s recent work focuses on the governance of investment institutions with an explicit long-term mandate. Her research has explored investment decision-making under ambiguity, shareholder engagement and integrating sustainability criteria into infrastructure investment deals. She has published her research in several book chapters and academic journals, including Business and Politics, Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment, Journal of Business Ethics, European Financial Review and Stanford Social Innovation Review.
Dr. Hachigian holds a PhD from the University of Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (2015), where she investigated the governance of investment decision-making by sovereign wealth funds. She also holds a Master of Public Administration from Carleton University (2010) and a Bachelor of Arts with Combined Honours in Economics and Political Science from McMaster University (2008).
