Staff changes within Student Services
There have been a variety of changes to the Student Services staff team over the past few weeks.
Many of you will have met Kate Landreth, who joined the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team in early the spring. Danielle McCann, has joined us more recently to round out the WIL team. Both Kate and Danielle have worked in higher education prior to coming to RRU, particularly in the areas of career planning and internship support.
Sophia Palahicky, who had been acting as coordinator, Student Services, has moved over to CTET and is now their manager, Learning Design Services. In her place, we have recently welcomed Kim Kara as the new coordinator for Student Services. Kim also has a background working with students services in higher education and has run her own consulting business supporting mid-career international students.
Darlene Joseph is no longer with us, we are grateful to her for the time she dedicated to our team and to making our students feel supported.
Our two Student Activities Assistants Viral Mangukia (MGM student) and Josie Jiang (recent MAIIC graduate), who have been bringing us pizza, ice cream parties and RCV races as well as several other events have transitioned into new roles at RRU. Viral has stayed with Student Services to complete his MGM internship and is working as our international student liaison. Josie has recently left Student Services and joined FOM with the BBA program. Good scoop for BBA! We will be hiring two new students very soon.
Finally, Corbin Bednarik, who has been with the recreation centre for almost two years is now our senior membership services representative. We are happy to have Corbin take on this new challenge!
The photo above captures the smiles of our four of our newest faces: Danielle McCann, Kim Kara, Kate Landreth and Viral Mangukia. Along with members of the library team, many of the staff in Student Services are in temporary office spaces while we work through some fabulous renovations. We look forward to welcoming you from our new spaces in the near future.
