Tasha Welch new Director Int'l Collaboration
After an extensive search, I am very pleased to announce that Tasha Welch has accepted the position of Director, International Collaboration and Development. Tasha has held the position of Acting Director, International Programs and Global Advancement since June 2015, overseeing international recruitment in India, international partnerships, international contract training and working alongside the Study Group transition teams.
She has a variety of recruitment, sales, marketing, event management and business development experience from higher education and the tourism and hospitality sectors. Tasha is the former International Marketing Manager for Study Group with Royal Roads University, Roosevelt University and the University of Vermont in her portfolio. She worked directly with university stakeholders, an extensive global recruitment team, and education agents to recruit international students to North America. On the opening team of two new International Study Centres, Tasha collaborated with the admissions teams, program areas and student services to develop and execute programs, marketing materials and conduct in market training to launch universities to the international marketplace.
She also previously worked on Catherine Riggins’ team at RRU as a Marketing Specialist with the Office of Global Advancement in her portfolio. Prior to joining the higher education sector, Tasha was the Strategic Marketing Manager for Tourism Victoria where she promoted Victoria as a travel and meetings destination.
Tasha officially started in this new role on Monday, January 18, 2016. The Office of International Collaboration and Development is located in Grant 130 along with the rest of the team: Mallin McCartney, Soojin Kim, Brooke Klassen and Paulina Jarmula.
