The Techno Files is a series of short interviews featuring people associated with the MA in Learning and Technology (MALAT) program. This post features Gigi Johnson from our thesis supervision list.

In March 2014, Dr. Gigi Johnson will be speaking in Austin, Texas, at South by Southwest (also known as SXSW), a 40,000+ person "marketplace of ideas" focusing on music, education, social change and technology. Her Core Conversation presentation on "Pixelating Reality: How Smartphones Shift Now" will examine how mobile technologies and digital cameras are changing how we interact and negotiate interpersonal space and time.  Her discussion, which you can see as a preview, will expand on how designers can think about this blended presence differently for live events, work, and family engagement.

You can learn more about Gigi and her work through her UCLA faculty biography or her LinkedIn profile.
