Three-Minute Thesis competition results

Each year, Royal Roads thesis and dissertation students compete in the 3-Minute Thesis Competition sponsored by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies. Each participating institution first holds a competition at the institutional level, and the winner of the institutional competition is entered in the regional competition.

This year’s winner of the Royal Roads 3MT Competition is Astrid Kuhn, a student in the Doctor of Social Sciences program. Astrid will receive a $300 award and compete in the 2018 Western 3MT competition at the University of Regina on April 27. Astrid’s entry is titled “Recording the Filip(ino) Side: Telling and Sharing Filipino Canadian Entrepreneurial Stories of Identity Negotiation for Empowerment to Leadership.”

Runner-up and recipient of a $150 award is Shelby Adams, a student in the MA in Environmental Education and Communication program, with her presentation on “Southeast Saskatchewan Oilfield Workers on Climate Issues.”
