Canada's northern people face environmental challenges with implications that will reach far into the future. Mary-Anne Neal works with the Sahtu Dene people to build leadership and decision-making capacity. The significance of the Great Bear Lake watershed was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization when they named it a protected biosphere.
