Use Sentinel instead of Gabriel

Short story

Are you in the habit of connecting to RRU from home using the Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) by typing gabriel.royalroads.ca in the space for "server name"? If so, please be aware that this will no longer work. Instead, please use sentinel.royalroads.ca going forward.

Slightly longer story

The security certificate that ensures a safe place for you to log in (when connecting to us via Remote Desktop Connection) needed to be renewed. The new certificate does not understand that there was once a Gabriel so it only understands the real server name, which is Sentinel. The previous certificate knew that Gabriel and Sentinel were really the same things so it didn't matter which you used when you connected to the server.

So, if you were in the habit of connecting to RRU from home using the Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) by typing gabriel.royalroads.ca in the space for "server name," please be aware that this will no longer work. Instead, please use sentintel.royalroads.ca going forward.

It might be that you've been doing this for so long that you don't actually ever type the server name because it's remembered by RDC. That's fine but at this point, it's either remembering something that will work or something that won't. If you have a problem, look there and make the change if needed (see screen shot above).
