Are you looking for a hands-on opportunity to make valuable connections to Indigenous community and culture? Are you passionate about reconciliation and the arts? Do you want to learn more about Indigenous traditions and give back to your community?

Indigenous Education and Student Services is looking for self-motivated and energetic volunteers to be a part of our National Indigenous Peoples Day 2019 celebrations on the shores of Esquimalt Lagoon Friday, June 21.

The day-long event will feature a canoe landing protocol and challenge, and Indigenous performances, foods, art, vendors and more.

We need your help to make our 2019 celebrations possible!

This volunteer opportunity is open to everyone, though there are a limited number of spots available. Volunteers should also be available for an orientation Friday, June 14 from 1 to 3 p.m.

All volunteers will receive a complimentary lunch.

Sign up online by June 9.

Email Keil Kodma with any questions.

You can also take part in our Canoe Challenge.

National Indigenous Peoples Day 2019 is hosted by the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, the University of Victoria, Camosun College, the Victoria Native Friendship Centre, Indigenous Perspectives Society, ISPARC, Power to Be, VanCity and Royal Roads University Indigenous Education and Student Services.
