Last week Geoff Bird offered a free evening talk on the 100th anniversary of both the sinking of the Lusitania and one of the first battles in Ypres, Belgium, where many Canadian soldiers lost their lives in World War I. Geoff shared stories of his pilgrimage to Ypres and the interwoven relationship between remembrance and touring battlefields across the world.

We wish to thank Dr. Bird for the generosity of his time, as well as our guests for the evening who donated $130 to The Poppy Fund.

If you weren't able to make it to the evening talk you can learn more about this important anniversary and touring the battlefields of Ypres from Geoff Bird's recent CFAX radio interview.
