University Drive Roadwork

Safety First! Construction trucks are circulating frequently on campus. All staff, students and campus visitors are reminded to obey the posted speed limits and watch for flaggers  directing traffic. Safe driving on campus is essential to everyone’s wellbeing.

Work continues at the bottom of University Drive near the Boathouse and Sneq'wa e'lun as part of upgrades to campus services (power, data, water, drainage and lighting.)

Northbound traffic below parking lot P3 will be detoured to exit via Serpentine Rd. to aid in traffic flow during normal working hours and on weekends if required.

Plan a few extra minutes into your schedule when travelling to classes or meetings during peak periods to allow for brief traffic delays. Enjoy some fresh air and plan to park in one of the larger lots on campus, such as P4 near the upper track, P3 south of the castle or P7 next to the Sherman Jen Building, and walk to class or your office.

West Campus

Upgrades to campus lighting are progressing near the Recreation Centre. Please be mindful of construction trucks and workers over the next week.

Hatley Castle Walkways

Restoration of the walkways around Hatley Castle and the Italian Gardens started this week, with expected completion in mid-March. The brick pathways will be restored with careful consideration of the historical look and impact on the surrounding gardens.

Campus Space Planning

Thank you for welcoming the campus space planning team who have been on campus through the fall preparing a comprehensive inventory of space and furniture. This work will be completed over the coming weeks and is an important part of space planning and updates to the long-term campus plan.

Upcoming—Parking Infrastructure

Improvements to campus parking infrastructure continues. Enhancements to P7 next to the Sherman Jen building are underway.  We will share more information as soon as the work schedule is final.
