Welcome Cheryl Eason

I am pleased to announce that Cheryl Eason, our new vice-president and chief financial officer, joined the Royal Roads team this week.

On behalf of the board and the rest of the executive, I am delighted to welcome Cheryl to continue the great financial leadership provided by Dan Tulip for the last 15 years, and to help us chart a course for the next exciting era for the university.

Cheryl comes to us from the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), the largest public pension fund in the United States. As CFO since 2012, she directed CalPERS’ financial accounting and reporting for a pension fund of over $300 billion, an operating/capital budget of $1.8 billion and 2,800 employees.

Cheryl is a Royal Roads University alumna (MBA 2011), and her previous roles include vice-president, financial & plan board services for BC Pension Corporation as well as executive vice-president and CFO for Manitoba Lotteries Corporation (MLC).

You will have an opportunity to get to know Cheryl over the coming months, including at our Campus Conversation in May (date and time tbd).

Please join me in welcoming Cheryl to the Royal Roads community.
