Welcome RRU’s new Chief Information Officer

Welcome RRU’s new Chief Information Officer

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Grainne McElroy as the new Chief Information Officer at Royal Roads University. Grainne (pronounced like Sonya, i.e., Gronya) comes to us with over 25 years of IT experience. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University College, Dublin and an MSc in transportation from Imperial College, London. Positons that she has held include Infrastructure Support Specialist, Technology Project Manager, IT Security Manager, IT Innovation Lead, VP Global Technology Customer Support and IT Planning and Enterprise Architecture Manager. She has worked in London and Manchester as well as more recently in British Columbia. Her husband, Martin, is a performance director for the Canadian Olympic team and so not surprisingly Grainne is interested in high performance team sports and its application to business. She has two daughters Orla and Caoimhe (pronounced Kweeva).

Please join me in welcoming Grainne to the university when she starts on January 4, 2016.
