West campus power outage Nov. 5
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, electrical power to the west campus will be temporarily shut down to enable electrical infrastructure upgrade work to be completed. This outage will affect CEDAR, the Recreation Centre, CESIP, the Boathouse, Blue Heron House, the Greenhouse, Rose Cottage and houses 3, 5, 14, 16, 27, and 28. Full power will be restored to the entire campus by 9 p.m. that evening.
All of the affected buildings will be closed during the electrical shutdown including the Recreation Centre. Access to Royal Roads email accounts, websites and Moodle will not be affected by the shutdown.
Royal Roads employees with offices located in these buildings are asked to prepare their work stations in advance of the outage by turning off and unplugging all computer equipment at the end of the work day Friday, Nov. 3 to avoid damage from a power surge that may occur when the system is re-energized.
For the safety of visitors and members of the Royal Roads community, as well as electrical contractors and other project team members, you are encouraged to avoid visiting these areas of the campus during this outage.
