World Religions Month

The Diversity Action Group is pleased to bring to you World Religions Month! We have tremendous diversity on our campus and that includes how we inform our world views. So let’s take some time to learn about one another and help to create an open, safe and inclusive campus.

We hope this month will be an opportunity for everyone to ask questions and be open to learning about other ways of being and seeing our world.  In order to help you get started, we have pulled some resources together for you and we will be hosting an event later this month!

What is your co-worker/student/neighbour celebrating today? See here to learn how to add different national and religious holidays to your calendar in Outlook. Or check out the world interfaith calendar.

Did you know that Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) has a funded Major Collaborative Research Initiative (MCRI), hosted at the University of Ottawa, called the Religion and Diversity Project? Check out their website for great resources and information about other Canadian organizations and initiatives.

In our community there are also some great local resources! For example, the Victoria Multi Faith Society and UVic’s Multifaith Services are worth checking out. Sharon Kobrinksy, one of our counsellors here at RRU, is also the Jewish Chaplin for UVic’s Multifaith services!

And who doesn’t love a good TED talk? Check out these links to watch various talks about different religions and views:
